Transparentify

Transparentify privacy policy

Effective 23 October 2026.

Transparentify is a macOS app that removes the background from images. This policy explains what the app does with your data. The short version: nothing leaves your Mac.

What Transparentify does not do

The app has no network capability. Its macOS sandbox entitlements do not include network access, so it is technically unable to send data anywhere, and the operating system enforces that.

How your images are handled

All processing happens on your Mac. The app finds the subject with an image model that is included inside the app itself, together with the image frameworks built into macOS (Apple's Vision, Core ML, Core Image, and Accelerate). The model runs locally and never contacts any server. Images you open are held in memory only for as long as the app is working on them. Nothing is written to disk unless you choose to save a result, copy it to the clipboard, or run a batch, in which case files are written only to the locations you selected.

Transparentify does not keep a history of the files you have opened or the results you have made.

Clipboard

When you use Copy, the resulting image is placed on the system clipboard so you can paste it into another app. When you use Paste, the app reads an image from the clipboard. The app does not read the clipboard at any other time.

Batch processing

When you process a folder, the app reads the image files directly inside that folder and writes a new PNG beside each one. It does not touch any other files or folders.

Children

Transparentify is suitable for all ages and collects no information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever changes in a way that affects this policy, for example by adding an online feature, the policy will be updated here and the effective date revised. Any such change would also be described in the app's release notes.
